Cedar Stains and Smoked Pork Butt

We threw a bbq on our newly finished front patio last weekend; which involved many firsts for me. 1) Taking on and completing such a huge project of laying a travertine patio, slate walkway, and handmade AC cover (which is now complete with a nice cedar stain). 2) Bar-b-queing.  I've never really bar-b-qued before, the whole charcoal fire starting thing has always scared me.  But I conquered the project of my front yard remodel and was determined!  So determined that I decided to make smoked pork butt.  No burgers and hot dogs for me ;-p.  I had gotten the recipe from my coworker and it actually turned out a.m.a.z.i.n.g.  It smoked for 6 hours and the meat just fell off the bone - this is a good thing!  It turned out to be a wonderful evening full of friends, food and outdoor fun (even if it did pour down half way through).  We ended up moving the party inside our garage (also known as James' office) and ended the night with sparklers!!
